Annie's Journey in the USCG

July 24, 2010

This blog was created for my beautiful baby girl, Annie who is about to leave on her long awaited journey into the United States Coast Guard.

It is with both sadness and joy that I am creating this blog so that family and friends can follow her journey.

Sadness because she is my baby girl and I will miss her terribly! Joy because I know this is something she has wanted to do with her life and I have no doubt that she will succeed! In fact, she will excel! Annie is a very determined young woman and when she sets her mind to do something, watch out. She strives for perfection and that will only enhance her performance and journey while in the USCG.

Update on Annie's progress.................

September 4, 2010

We heard from Annie last night and she is expected to be moved from the hospital on Tuesday, 9-7-10 to the Regimental Hold Element where she will wait for the next Recruit class to reach the same point she was taken out of active training - Week 4.

During this time, she will go through physical therapy and have time for academic studies..........

Annie is pretty upbeat - she realizes why she is in the hospital and even though she is itching to re-enter a Recruit Company, she knows that her body needs time to heal from the stress fracture and does not want to cause further damage by pushing herself too soon.

During her stay in the hospital she has had phone privileges on the weekends which has helped her stay focused on why she is there and to speak with family and friends that are supporting her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Annie as she continues her journey.....................

Love, Mommy, Daddy, Harrison, Grandma, Gabby, Baxter, and the chickens! (lol)
